Services provided by E2 Research, Education and Consulting Services (cc) in the Atmospheric Sciences include basic research, project management, conducting of field experiments, education and training services, weather-related accident analysis and expert testimony. Areas of specialization are: atmospheric remote sensing, applied meteorology, air pollution dispersion modeling, wind flow modeling and climatology. The scientific expertise base of E2 includes data management, processing and analysis using advanced statistical methods, numerical modeling and specialized algorithms. Programming in FORTRAN, C and C++ on DOS, Windows 95 and UNIX platforms is employed. A special feature of the services portfolio of E2 is its proven record of multi-lingual international operations using Spanish, Italian, French and Portuguese besides English and Afrikaans.

E2 has a noteworthy international background with completed or active projects in Germany, Chile, Canary Islands, Japan, South Africa and the states of Hawaii, Colorado, Arizona and Texas in the U.S.A. Agencies supporting these projects include European Southern Observatories, Max Planck Institute, Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, University of Hawaii Foundation, California Institute of Technology, National Optical Astronomy Observatories, Japanese Ministry of Science and Technology, Nuclear Regulatory Commission of South Africa and the Cape Town City Council.

Operations in Cape Town will be directed by Dr David Andre Erasmus, the only consulting meteorologist living and working in South Africa that is listed in the International Directory of Certified Consulting Meteorologists. He is also a full member of the American Meteorological Society, the American Geophysical Union and the American Institute of Physics. Dr. Erasmus has lived and worked in South Africa and several countries overseas as a university professor, researcher and consultant. Dr Erasmus was educated at Rondebosch Boys' Preparatory and High Schools, the University of Cape Town and the University of Hawaii at Manoa where he obtained the Ph.D. degree in 1984.
